John P. Joiner

John Joiner brings over 35 years of real estate experience to the firm’s residential closing practice with a deep understanding of the many issues involved with both commercial and residential properties. Throughout his career, he has closed thousands of transactions including single family residential, multi-family residential, commercial, large acreage land deals, and acquisition of property for the development of wetlands mitigation banks. John drafts all necessary documents, ensuring compliance with lender requirements and government regulations, and examining and correcting titles. He takes great care with his clients and focuses on a smooth transaction from start to finish.

Prior to joining Weissman, John maintained private practice focused on real estate transactions. Earlier in his career he was the director of the Griffin Spalding County Land Bank Authority, where he was responsible for acquisition, management and disposition of over 300 tax-delinquent properties and instituting maintenance policies for properties owned in order to improve substandard neighborhoods.

Deeply rooted in Griffin and surrounding communities, John served as a former Vice-Chair of the Griffin Spalding County Land Bank Authority, is Past Chairman of the Board of Directors for Griffin Ballet Theatre, and has served on the Boards for Camelot Theatre Company and Stepping Stones Educational Therapy Center. He is a member of the First Baptist Church of Griffin where he has held a number of leadership roles. In his spare time, John enjoys spending time with his family, hiking and camping, and supporting his children’s interests. He also enjoys participating in local theater and supporting the fine arts in his community. John is a member of the Griffin Kiwanis club and supports their mission of improving the lives of children.
